The Worlds of Richard Fung: a film survey in the Granoff Living Rooms
Leading up to the premiere of his latest film, The Enigma of Harold Sonny Ladoo (2024) at Martinos Auditorium on October 11, the Brown Arts Institute presents a survey of queer Asian Canadian filmmaker Richard Fung’s experimental and documentary films made between 1990 and 2016. Showcasing a range of his personal interests and research investments, these films speak to the HIV/AIDS crisis, minoritarian queer histories, colonialism in Canada and the Caribbean, and the global Asian diaspora. They will screen continuously on each floor of the Granoff Center for the Creative Arts in the communal “living room” spaces during the building’s open hours between October 7-11.
