BAI Workshops

Workshops are open to accepted students and PVD+ community members for free. These weekly workshops offer an opportunity for artists of all levels to build their creative practice and research in an environment fueled by inquiry and exploration. Participants are selected through an application process designed to build strong cohorts with a wide range of experiences.

The 2025–2026 Workshops application window is now open! Please note the following important dates, which apply to the Teaching Artists Studio, Songwriting Workshop, and Director's Forum applications:

  • Deadline to submit application: Sept 5
  • Decisions announced: On or before Sept 15
  • First session for accepted participants: Week of Sept 22

Teaching Artists Studio

A new workshop series for experienced and aspiring teaching artists to build community, test lesson plans, and receive support and guidance navigating what it means to be a teaching artist working in Rhode Island.

Director's Forum

A Revolving Roundtable Discussion of Theory + Practice. The Director’s Forum is a program offered by the Brown Arts Institute in collaboration with the Wilbury Theatre Group.

Songwriting Workshop

A free weekly workshop designed to give students and regional community members a chance to hone their songwriting skills while being part of and contributing to a supportive creative community.
