Getting Tickets
You can buy tickets or RSVP for free events hosted by BAI by visiting arts.brown.edu/whats_on.
Getting Here
BAI hosts most of our events in two buildings: the Perry and Marty Granoff Center for the Creative Arts and The Lindemann Performing Arts Center. Event locations will always be displayed on the BAI’s website and ticketing page. Guests will also receive a "Know Before You Go" reminder email that provides information about each event.

From the North or South on Interstate 95
Take Exit 22A to Downtown Providence. Continue straight on Memorial Boulevard. At the fourth set of lights, turn left onto College Street. At the top of the hill, turn left onto Prospect Street. Take your first right onto Waterman Street. At the third light, turn left onto Brook Street. A visitor parking lot will be two blocks up on your left. This will be within walking distance to the Granoff Center and The Lindemann.
From the East on Interstate 195
Take Exit 2 to South Main Street and continue for half a mile until the first set of traffic lights. Turn right onto College Street and then left at the top of the hill onto Prospect Street. Take your first right onto Waterman Street. At the third light, turn left onto Brook Street. A visitor parking lot will be two blocks up on your left. This will be in close walking distance to the Granoff Center and The Lindemann.
From the Northwest
Follow Route 146 to I-95 South then follow directions above (from north and south).
There is on-street metered parking in the area, ranging from two to four-hour limits. There is unmetered parking in the surrounding neighborhood off of Brown Street, within a 10-minute walk. The nearest bus stop is Tunnel (before Thayer), which services lines 1, 32, 33, 34, 40 and 61x.
Note: the Tunnel stop is currently under construction and is CLOSED. Visit RIPTA’s website for more details on this change.
General Information
- Late Seating is at the discretion of House Management. If you arrive after the published start time you are not guaranteed entry.
- Re-entry is at the discretion of House Management. If you exit an event space you are not guaranteed re-entry.
- Food and Drink: With the exception of water, no food or drinks are allowed in BAI event spaces.
- Seating: All free events are general admission. Some paid events may be general admission, while others may be assigned seating - this will be indicated on the ticketing pages. Please check the event information or contact baiboxoffice@brown.edu if you have any questions.
Free Events Overbooking Guideline
- IMPORTANT: For all free events, Brown Arts Institute allows reservations beyond the capacity of the space. Entry is first come, first serve for these events for those with RSVPs until the space is full. If there is still space available at the published start time, walk-up patrons may be accommodated. Those who arrive after the published start time, with or without an RSVP, are not guaranteed entry.
Additional Information
- We encourage guests to arrive at least 15 minutes before the published event start time, and to use the restroom prior to the start of the event. Late entry and re-entry is at the discretion of House Management and depends on the event. Late entry and re-entry is never guaranteed.
- Please turn off or silence all electronic devices including phones, watches, etc.
- Please do not check your phone during the event; bright screens can be a distraction to the performers and other audience members.
- There is no photography or recording allowed during any events in BAI spaces.
- Please keep talking to a minimum out of respect for performers and other audience members.
- There is no food or drink allowed in BAI spaces with the exception of closed containers of water.
- Please dispose of any programs, etc. in the trash bins available in the main lobby.
- Make sure you have everything you brought with you when you leave!
Accessibility
- All BAI event spaces are wheelchair accessible and are able to be reached without the use of stairs.
- Service animals are the only animals allowed in BAI spaces. Please contact baiboxoffice@brown.edu if you will be attending with a service animal so we can ensure you have enough space and a comfortable experience.

Prohibited from BAI Spaces
The following items & activities are prohibited in BAI spaces:
- Cameras and video recorders
- Audio recording devices of any kind
- Food or drink (except for closed containers of water)
- Smoking or vaping
- Animals (except Service Animals)
- Jumping on stage
- At the end of an event, we ask that anyone meeting with an artist/speaker/etc. do so in the main lobby of the building the event is in.
