Jeanette Andrews is a New York-based artist working at the intersections of illusion, performance, installation, film, and audio. Her studio practice bridges the worlds of illusion, installation, and conceptual art, creating interactive vignettes and surreal, multisensory experiences that investigate perception, cognition, and the seemingly impossible. Her background as a lifelong magician affords her a unique set of skills to craft experiences exploring anomalies in perception;She invites audiences to co-create her illusory performances which function as live thought experiments;She has presented numerous commissioned works with the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, as well as for the Quebec City Biennial and Boca Raton Museum of Art, presented talks for Cooper Hewitt, Chicago Ideas Week, The British Society of Aesthetics, and universities, including Yale, Columbia, Princeton and Harvard.

She has held residencies with the Institute for Art and Olfaction and the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts at the University of Houston, and is a former National Arts Club Artist Fellow and Affiliate of metaLAB at Harvard. She was a 2024-2025 Visiting Artist for the Center for Art, Science and Technology at MIT and A Prizma Arts and Research Residency artist for Brown Arts Institute at Brown University. Her work has been featured in the Boston Globe, PBS, Chicago Tribune and New York Times.

Katy Dammers (she/her) is the Deputy Director and Chief Curator at REDCAT, CalArts’ center for the visual and performing arts in Los Angeles. Her curatorial practice presents, organizes, and contextualizes contemporary practice in performance commissions, exhibitions, festivals, site-specific installations, and publications. She has held past leadership positions at The Kitchen, FringeArts, and Jacob’s Pillow. Dammers has also worked as a creative administrator and manager for choreographers Rashaun Mitchell + Silas Riener, Jennifer Monson, Donna Uchizono, and Tere O’Connor. A writing fellow at the National Center for Choreography Akron, her essays have been published in The Brooklyn Rail, Motor Dance Journal, and MOLD as well as edited volumes by University of Akron Press and Princeton University Press. Dammers was a member of the Inland Academy and holds degrees from Goldsmiths College and Princeton University.

Paja Faudree is a linguistic anthropologist whose research interests include language and politics, indigenous literary and social movements, the interface between music and language, the ethnohistory of New World colonization, and the global marketing of indigenous rights discourses, indigenous knowledge, and plants. She received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and came to Brown following a Harper-Schmidt Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Social Sciences at the University of Chicago. She is affiliated with Brown's Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, Native American and Indigenous Studies, the Program in Science and Technology Studies, and Development Studies. Professor Faudree teaches courses on language and society, social movements in Latin America, language and politics, language and music, and the anthropology of drugs. She is also a published poet and playwright, and holds an MFA from Brown's literary arts program.

Dr. Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo (she/her) is a black feminist rapper, beatmaker, and scholar from Ithaca, NY with family roots in Côte D'Ivoire and the Congo. She is the David S. Josephson Assistant Professor of Music at Brown University as well as the Faculty Director of the Black Music Lab. Under the name SAMMUS she has written, produced, and recorded six albums and a beat tape since 2010, and she has worked on several one-off collaborations with notable artists including Moor Mother, Open Mike Eagle, and Sadie Dupuis. Her other collaborations include original compositions for video games, podcasts, and films. Since 2023 she has also worked extensively as a lyricist under the name Aeon Flux in ETERNAL SEPTEMBER, a large-scale multimedia project conceived by Grammy-winning experimental composer William Brittelle.

Lyrically SAMMUS is known for her dense and introspective rhymes about everything from retro video-game inspired Afrofuturist space odysseys to the power of talk therapy; broadly her work explores the aesthetics of anxiety, specifically what it means to move through the world as an anxious black girl. Her live shows, characterized by her high energy and the inclusion of elements of cosplay, bring together a vibrant array of hip hop heads, punks, activists, and self-identified nerds and geeks, among others. As noted by the Los Angeles Times, Sammus “has a gift for getting a message across.”

Dr. Lumumba-Kasongo received her PhD from Cornell University in Science and Technology Studies. Her doctoral research, which she completed in 2019, focuses on the sociotechnical dynamics that shape the development and use of “community-studios”—recording studios that provide high-quality recording tools, professional sound engineering services, and audio training to communities that often lack financial or social access to these resources. Her scholarly areas of interest include black feminist sound studies and hip-hop praxis, particularly as it intersects with AI and gaming technocultures.

Since Fall 2021 she has been a member of the steering committee for Brown’s science, technology, and society program. From 2019 to 2024 she served as the Director of Audio at  Glow Up Games, the first women-of-color led game studio.

Sydney Skybetter is a choreographer. Hailed by the Financial Times as “One of the world’s foremost thinkers on the intersection of dance and emerging technologies,” Sydney’s choreography has been performed at such venues as The Kennedy Center and Jacob’s Pillow. He has lectured at SXSW, Yale, Mozilla and the Boston Dynamics AI Institute, and consulted for The National Ballet of Canada, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Hasbro, and The University of Southern California, among others. His work has been supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and a Creative Capital “Wild Futures” Award. He is a Senior Affiliate of metaLAB at Harvard University, a frequent contributor to WIRED and Dance Magazine, the Founder of the Conference for Research on Choreographic Interfaces and Host of the podcast, “Dances with Robots.” Sydney serves as the Director of the Brown Arts Institute, is an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts and Performance Studies, and was the first choreographer at Brown University to receive tenure.
