PantherArt is an exhibition and visual arts activation that showcases the artwork of Pleasant View Elementary students, Pre-K through grade 5. Created over the entire school year in collaboration with both their art teacher, Robert Boerner and each other, these pieces illustrate the wide range of artistic expression of over 400 students. PantherArt seeks to forefront creation, expression, and the spirit of youth in exhibiting the fanciful imaginings and mark-making of these young artists.
Pleasant View Elementary, located in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island, is a public school serving more than 400 students. As is typical of urban schools, not all of the students begin or end their artistic elementary journey at Pleasant View. But, as the saying goes, “Once a Panther, forever a Panther – WITH PRIDE!” The work of both former and present Panther Artists will be proudly represented.

Join us for a celebration of the exhibition on October 5, 3:00pm. RSVP below!

About (a few of) the Artists
Larenz
One of 400+ PantherArtists, Larenz (grade 2) is an exceptional observer of the latest art trends being practiced in class. He joins his class in paying homage to "les Fauves" of the early 20th century.
Amelia
Amelia, a 4th grade PantherArtist, continues to innovate in her creative practice, hoping to find that "sweet spot" where original ideas meet receptive audience.
Robert Boerner
Robert Boerner is in his second year as the PantherArt teacher at Pleasant View. Here he employs the mobile "Chill Room," gifted to him by 3rd grade PantherArtist Timia, for a brief respite from all the creativity.
Brown Arts’ IGNITE Series uplifts the spirit of artistic collaboration across Brown, Providence, the Rhode Island region, and beyond. Ignite your creative curiosity through this multi-year series of programs, activations, interventions, and investigations.
