Current Loans

The loan program was established in 2001 with funding from Brown’s 18th President Ruth J. Simmons and continues through the generosity of donors and alumni.  It allows the Committee to bring significant works to campus on a temporary basis. Previously featuring works by David Nash, Roy Lichtenstein, Isamu Noguchi, Alexander Calder, Paola Pivi, Patrick Dougherty, and Arthur Carter, the loan program complements the dynamism and vibrancy of Brown campus life—each arrival and departure of public artwork introduces new concepts, themes, materials, and styles to the campus and opens dialogues with local communities and the wider public.
