Theodore Bogosian

Visiting Assistant Professor of the Practice

Biography

Award-winning filmmaker and television producer Theodore Bogosian has directed, produced and written dozens of long-form documentaries (including multiple NOVA programs and many network and cable television specials).  He has also directed network episodic drama (including HBO’s OZ) and is a 20-year member of the Director’s Guild of America, twice elected to serve two-year terms on the DGA‘s National Board of Directors as Board Alternate.  Bogosian and his programs have won top prizes everywhere from NATAS (Emmy) and The National Press Club to the Chicago Film Festival and Writer’s Guild of America.

Since the 2015-16 Academic Year, Bogosian has served as Visiting Assistant Professor of the Practice inside Brown’s Cogut Institute for the Humanities, teaching a unique course entitled “Introduction to iPhone/iPad Moviemaking Using 3-D and 4K/VR360 Comparisons,” in which students utilize their mobile devices for creative self-expression and empathy creation.  In 2016, he received a Teaching With Technology Award from Brown that recognizes instructors whose courses have been nominated by students, faculty and staff for the most effective use of technology in advancing teaching and learning goals.
