The 2026 After Hours Staff Art Exhibition is closed, but inspiration carries on
People checking out the 2026 After Hours Staff Exhibition.
What do you look forward to as you get home from work? Is it new yarn or adding thoughts to your weathered journal? Has your guitar missed you too? And why does it feel so natural and pleasant to dedicate time to creativity when so many other things could claim your attention?
The Annual “After Hours: Staff Art Exhibition” at the Granoff Center for the Creative Arts is a tradition of displaying talent that is by no means dormant nor underground — but a vibrant and complementary part to employment at Brown. Among the well-represented spectrum of art mediums and expressions, as well as diversity of titles and departments, there is one unifying agreement — the arts are essential in our lives.
Why is it important to continue your creative practice? Here is what the 2026 show’s participants told us in a video interview during the lively reception at the Brown Arts Institute that featured an arbrasson performance by Huichun Yang.
