Making Moving Marks

Join Brown Arts Institute and Providence-based animator Joel Orloff for a two-hour creative workshop inspired by William Kentridge’s stop motion animations, including No, It Is (2012), on view in Cohen Gallery April 26 - June 16. Participants will view examples of Kentridge’s work and collaboratively experiment in small groups to create short stop motion animations using charcoal and a technique often used by Kentridge called modified base animation. No experience with illustration or animation required. All materials will be provided.
