Director, Programs and Operations, Brown Arts Initiative
Chira DelSesto has worked in nonprofit arts and higher education for over two decades. As the associate director of the Brown Arts Initiative (BAI), she oversees the production of all events and activities in the Perry and Marty Granoff Center for the Creative Arts, home of the BAI, as well as the facility itself. She also serves as the BAI’s liaison to students. Previously, she was assistant director of the Creative Arts Council at Brown, precursor to the BAI, which guided the planning and construction of the multi-media Granoff Center. While with the CAC, DelSesto oversaw the creation of the Student Grant Program, the Granoff Mural Project, and After Hours, the annual staff exhibition. She produced the exhibitions TRaNs-MOGRiFiER, Chorus for Untrained Operator, and Casting Deep Shade for the Center’s Cohen Gallery. A native of Rhode Island, she has a B.A. in English and Political Science from Providence College.
