Andy Goodman is the Brown Arts Initiative Graduate Curatorial Fellow and a first-year Master’s student in the Public Humanities program at Brown. A multimedia artist and community activist, they recently worked as the Youth and Community Director at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, where they created free city-wide arts programming in partnership with cultural institutions. At Brown, Goodman will explore new approaches to building inclusion and equitable institutional change in arts and nonprofit organizations. They are passionate about using art as a catalyst for empowerment and healing for female-identified, queer, minority and under-represented communities and young people. Goodman holds a B.A. in art and film from Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA, as well as a certification in Nonprofit Management from the University of Washington.
