Brown Arts Initiative

Grant Programs

Through its grant programs, the Brown Arts Initiative provides financial and other resources to Brown University faculty and students to help realize curriculum, research and practice-based projects in the arts.

Brown Arts Initiative Lawton Wehle Fitt ’74 Artist-in-Residence Grants provide funding to support on-site artist residencies of one week or longer.
Brown Arts Initiative Public Presentation Grants are designed to help bring new artistic work and voices to the public while engaging audiences of varied sizes and compositions.
Research & Development (R&D) grants support the BAI’s emphasis on innovation. Awards are made to support exploration and experimentation in creative research and scholarship that may or may not include a presentation component.
The Brown Arts Initiative Student Grants Program provides funding to Brown students in support of projects that involve the production, study and/or critique of the creative arts.
