RaMell Ross, Professor of the Practice
RaMell Ross is a Providence, RI-based writer, photographer and filmmaker working in Alabama for the past seven years. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Oxford America. He has received grants from the Sundance Institute and Tribeca Film Institute for his in-production experimental documentary Idiom (Hale County This Morning, This Evening) and is recipient of a 2016 Aaron Siskind Individual Photographer Fellowship. Ross is a research affiliate at the MIT Media Lab, and serves as professor of the practice in 2016-17 at Brown University through the Brown Arts Initiative and Visual Art Department.
